Privacy policy

Dixon, Robb-Hilton & Company ("we", "us") respects your privacy and handles personal information in accordance with the Data Protection Act, 2020 of Jamaica. This policy explains what we collect through this website and how we use it.

Information we collect

When you contact us by phone, email or WhatsApp, we receive the details you choose to give us, such as your name, email address, phone number and a description of your matter. The enquiry form on our contact page does not store anything on our website: it prepares your message and opens it in WhatsApp or your own email app, and the message reaches us only when you press send there. Messages sent by WhatsApp are also handled by WhatsApp (Meta) under its own privacy policy. Our web server records technical information such as your IP address and browser type for security purposes.

This website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as pages visited and approximate location. It does not give us your name or contact details.

How we use it

  • To respond to your enquiry and, if you instruct us, to provide legal services
  • To carry out conflict checks and meet our legal and regulatory obligations
  • To keep this website secure
  • To improve the website

We do not sell your information or use it for unrelated marketing.

Sharing

We share information only where necessary: with service providers who host our website and email under confidentiality obligations, with courts, government agencies and other parties when required to carry out your instructions, or where the law requires it.

Retention and security

Enquiries that do not lead to instructions are kept only as long as needed to respond and for our records. Client files are kept for the periods required by our professional obligations. We use secure, encrypted connections and restrict access to personal information.

Your rights

You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or object to how it is used. Contact us at [email protected]. You may also contact the Office of the Information Commissioner in Jamaica.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page.
